-- Stag vs. Drag. It's what you say about going to an event or a party. I'm going "stag" (alone). or, I'm going "drag" (with a date).

-- In the late 50s and early 60s in my high school, over the PA, they would announce a dance on Friday night and say: "Admission is 50 cents Stag, and 75 cents, Drag." Yes -- dances were cheap in the 50s... but so was everything else.

-- I am guessing that "stag" comes from the reference to a stag party -- men alone. And Drag is when you drag someone along with you... a date. But this last part is just a guess.

slang + drag = drag queen, transgender______________It doesn't always mean that. And often it doesn't have anything to do with transgender issues.
