Do you mean what does the adjective 'superlative' mean?

Superlative - (adj) the very best of; extraordinary.

That was a superlative speech, Jack.

The Miracle of Dunkirk is a superlative example of patriotic solidarity.

If someone said the words 'superlative adjective' to me, I would assume they were referring to something they'd read, and that they felt that one of the adjectives that'd been used had been the perfect descriptor for what the author was trying to relay.
