My mother seems to tell me this alot. It means that you have to take responsibility for everything that you do. You are responsible for YOU!! Anything you may do whether it is right or wrong you are to take full responsibility. Its also a great trust builder if you are lacking in that particular area.

Each person has his own thoughts / feelings / opinions and so on (Often used in acceptance that the person's view doesn't agree with one's own). The significance of the expression goes a little further - it means that other people's beliefs, opinions and actions within the law are none of my concern and that my beliefs, opinions and legitimate actions are no concern of others. It expresses the signal philosophy for living in a free, secular society of mutual regard and respect.

What does self observed mean?

It's a way of living in your own head. It is natural human behaviour that we all do. We tend to share and unload our daily and lifelong experiences on to others (sometimes justifying our actions, innocence and seeking approval). It is I believe( for the sake of both parts) important to make sure you finish your statement with a question about the other part and to make sure to express attention to other part's answer.

I know when you address a judge in the court of law you refer to them as "your honor". This is because a judge is required to uphold the laws of the land, like an umpire at a baseball game calls a strike or a ball. The judge is there to hold others accountable for their actions, but first to do this the judge has to be held accountable for their own actions. Why does your partner get angry with you when you hold him accountable for his poor choices?

I am thinking that they may have issues with being held accountable for their own actions. I have had the same issue with my partner and have yet to figure out a way of getting him to see why he needs to be accountable for his poor choices. The person who is wrong will be the angriest. Because he has made a poor choice, he knows he is wrong and he will be angry when you remind him or hold him accountable. If holding him accountable means bringing it up and not letting his mistakes become the past, then you should re-think your choice to hold a grudge. If they are mistakes which need to be taken care of, then you should gently guide him to resolve the problem - pushing too hard will only cause him to push back.
