3I disagree with "3". Here's what M. W. on-line dictionary states: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/every Main Entry : ev·ery ; Pronunciation : \ˈev-rē\ ; Function : adjective ; Etymology : Middle English everich, every, from Old English ǣfre ǣlc, from ǣfre ever + ǣlc each ; Date : before 12th century ; *************************** I also have a Funk & Wagnalls New College Standard Dictionary that states the same thing: TWO syllables!
I would take your set to a bookstore to ask this, but one thing I do know is that each map in your set is worth probably more than the whole book. There are people who collect old maps and they look for them. A 1954-55 book may have maps that could be hard to find.
Someone on e-bay is selling a funk & wagnalls student dictionary for $5 other collectors are selling similar items for $40, amazon has a paperback funk and wagnalls folklore book for $150http://cgi.ebay.com/ANTIQUE-FUNK-&-WAGNALLS-STANDARD-DICTIONARY-1910_W0QQitemZ290368073781QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20091109?IMSfp=TL091109204009r37483
The value of an 1894 Funk and Wagnalls standard dictionary can vary depending on its condition, rarity, and demand among collectors. In general, these dictionaries may range from $50 to several hundred dollars in good condition. It's best to consult with antique book dealers or online auction sites for a more accurate estimate of its value.
Probably not very much. The earliest edition and printings of this excellent dictionary, I would suspect, date back quite far.

The value of a set of Fund and Wagnalls 1954 encyclopedias can vary depending on factors like condition, completeness, and current demand. Typically, vintage encyclopedias from that era are considered collectible, but you may want to check online marketplaces or consult with a rare book dealer to get an accurate idea of their worth.
Did you ever find out the answer. I'm curious. I have one as well, and I saw a 1914 for sale online for $750. I'm not sure how correct that value would be.
As of 2021, Funk and Wagnalls dictionaries are no longer being published in print form. However, digital versions and online resources may still be available for access.
The noun " precipitation " comes from the verb " precipitate " ( in Meteorology, to fall down as condensed vapour ), which is derived from the Latin words " praecipitatus ", past participle of " praecipitare " from " praeceps " ( headlong ) from " prae- " ( before ) + " caput " ( head ). Also note the present participle " praecipitans " from that same root verb in Latin. Thus spake my trusted pal for almost 50 years, " Funk & Wagnalls Standard University Dictionary, Canadian Edition".
