Cullet is actually a variant of word collet. This refers to the ring of glass that was left on the blow pipe when a glass blower was finished with a piece. The glass blower usually broke the leftovers off the pipe with a small hammer. The pieces were called the collets and recycled in the next batch of glass. Nowadays cullet means most any scrap glass. Flint glass usually refers to glass with a high lead content. But lead is not used much in regular glass container production anymore. Most flint glass nowadays is made with Soda and Lime (EAPG). The term flint can be applied to most any hard clean glass for recycling. Plate glass etc. Hope this helps.

In a flint-lock firearm, the priming pan is where the spark from the flint ignites a small amount of gunpowder, which then ignites the main charge. If the firearm misfires, after having its primer ignited, you have a "flash in the pan."

Cullet is crushed glass that is used in the manufacturing of new glass products. It can be made from previously manufactured glass items, such as bottles or containers, and is often recycled to reduce energy consumption and raw material use in glass production. Incorporating cullet into the glass-making process helps improve efficiency and lowers emissions, making it an environmentally friendly option. Cullet can be categorized into different types, such as post-consumer or post-industrial, based on its source.

Discarded glass that has been sorted is typically cleaned to remove any impurities and contaminants. It is then crushed into cullet, which can be melted down and used to make new glass products. This cullet may be stored at a recycling facility or sold to glass manufacturers.
