Nube - or Newbie or Noob - is a person who is new to any given social environment where he/she can be readily identified by their inexperience with established customs, jargon and in-jokes. It is pronounced such that it rhymes with "Scooby".

If this is in an off-line scenario, it is usually spelled "newbie", which was perhaps originally a contraction of "new" and "baby".

If this is in an on-line or gaming scenario, then it's usually spelled "noob" (noo and b) reflecting the texting generation's love of phonetic contractions.

Amusingly enough, so many people didn't catch the implied hyphen between "noo" and "b", that they were mentally pronouncing it "nube" (rhymes with "tube") in their heads. Thus the third spelling of it - also mainly for on-line scenarios - of "nube", the more conventional spelling of "noob" (if one assumes the "rhymes with tube" pronunciation).

In fact, one could say that "only a noob spells it 'nube'!", but from where your grandpa sits, just debating it makes one a "newbie" in life!
In Spanish it means cloud. :D
