In chapter four Nat wakes up in 1599 in London, England. he s introduced to many characters, like Master Burbage, Shakespeare.
Nat wakes to discover he appears to be in a different time. A stranger, Harry, seems relieved Nat does not have the plague. The place and furniture are quite different and seem much poorer and less 'civilized'. Nat has to pee in a wooden bucket and then watches Harry tip it out of the window! He realizes he is in London but hundreds of years earlier than his own time. Nat is given to understand he is playing the part of Puck still - but at the original Globe with Master Burbage. They walk to the theatre and Nat is horrified by the smells and sights of Elizabethan London.
