If a list is syndetic, it will have the word 'and' before the last article in the list. It is the opposite of an asyndetic list which does not have an 'and' in it.
Example: the lion, the witch and the wardrobe.
syndetic lists are lists that contain an 'and' for example
'apples, Pears and bananas.'
whilst asyndetic lists do not:
'apples, pears, bananas.'
An asyndetic list implies an endlessness as there is no 'and' to finalse it and this makes it an open-ended list suggesting that more could be added, however syndetic lists may also imply this even though they do have an 'and'.
