Whether in a debate or a courtroom, the Interpretation Rule is to withhold all judgements of merit until the argument is fully developed and understood accurately.

The construction "has yet to" indicates that a subject has not taken a specific action as of the present time, especially some action that was required, anticipated, expected, or planned.Examples:The court has yet to rule on the matter. (They are expected to, and have not.)The problem has yet to be solved. (It is hoped that it will be solved eventually.)He has yet to prove his case. (As of present, he has been unsuccessful in proving it, although he may have made an attempt. Whether or not he has is not stated in this sentence.)
Chicago says to hyphenate if before the verb but not to if after the verb. The examples given (section 5.93) are "a well-trained athlete" vs. "an athlete who is well trained." I thought I'd learned this rule doesn't apply with the verb "to be" but apparently that's not the case, given these examples
In English, most sentences do have a subject, as it is essential for conveying who or what is performing the action. However, the notable exception occurs with imperative sentences, where the subject is often implied and not explicitly stated. For example, in the command "Close the door," the subject "you" is understood but not written.
An accepted or professed rule of action or conduct is called a "principle." Principles serve as guidelines for behavior and decision-making, often reflecting moral or ethical standards. They can be formalized into laws or codes of conduct, or they may be more informal, guiding personal or organizational behavior.
Following traffic laws while driving a car is an example of rule-governed behavior. Drivers are expected to stop at red lights, yield to pedestrians, and obey speed limits based on established rules and regulations.
A general rule is an unstated rule that is widely accepted. Morals are general rules that are not taught but widely accepted.
An informal norm is a culturally-based rule or behavior that guides actions within a society but is not enforced through formal laws or regulations. These norms are typically understood and followed by members of a community through social influence and custom.
A rule or a statement that is accepted without proof is a postulate.
A social norm is a commonly accepted behavior or practice within a society that guides and regulates interactions among individuals. They are unwritten rules that shape how people are expected to behave in various social situations.
Ethics are considered the moral standards by which people judge behavior. Ethical behavior is behavior that conforms to those accepted standards of social or professional behavior. Ethics often expressed by what is commonly considered the "golden rule": Do unto others what you would have them do unto you.
what does the phrase rule of thumb mean
The Postulate
Laws: Rules of behavior enforced by sanctions and imposed on members of society by a sovereign authority. Rule: guide to behavior, possibly enforced by sanctions, imposed within a group. Custom: A traditional of expected way of behaving.
One word for an accepted method would be "protocol".
That's up to you. There is no rule about it.
