To protect from disease - as by innoculation
One calender year?
It is an innoculation with a needle. Can also mean a sudden inflow od money into something, such as a market.
A person is not likely to die from a cat scratch, unless he or she is immunocompromised prior to innoculation. However, serious complications can result from the infection, so it is best to have it looked after immediately, by a doctor.
Jonathan Edwards was a Theologian, Preacher, and a missionary to the Native Americans in the 1700's. He was known to defend the Reformed theology of Christianity. He also was a firm advocate of the Enlightenment. Edwards actually never went to Harvard. He enrolled at Yale in 1716 and graduated in 1720. He was also the President of the College of New Jersey (currently Princeton University) but was only in office for one month before he died of a small pox innoculation. Oddly enough, he did the innoculation to influence the student body to take their innoculations! Ironic huh?
If the area around your tuberculosis innoculation has changed color and developed a bump, you probably should have your physician check to see if a cyst is developing under the skin.
If it is left open on the bench it can be contaminated by bacteria in tyhe air, e.g. micrococci. If the loop was not flamed adequately before innoculation this can also cause contamination. and also if the medium used was not sterile in the first place the plate will be contaminated.
Shingles is an illness resulting from the same virus that causes Chicken Pox. Serious reaction to this vaccination are extremely rare. Most, if they happen, are very mild, and consist of redness and itching at the site of innoculation.
