The subject matter of objective poetry is supplied by external objects like deeds, happenings, things that are around us. As far as the objective poetry is concerned the poet functions as an observer and describes what he has seen or heard.

In objective poetry the poet focuses his attention on the object that appeals to one of the five senses. The objective poetry is older and is a product of uncivilised races. The epic and drama can be considered the forms of objective poetry.
