What materials are seat belts made of?
Cotton and Nylon interwoven. -previous answer
Seat belts are normally used from polyamide, which can also be
named as: nylon, tactel or tactel micro. The reason for using this
material is because; it is strong when wet, durable, reasonably
inexpensive and it resists bacteria. It also is strong,
hardwearing, has a good elasticity, thermoplastic, does not
decompose, resists most alkalis. However it does have a poor
obsorbency and can be damaged by sunlight.
