In the novel "Teen Idol" by Meg Cabot the conflict is that teenagers have no empathy for others. They no longer care for one another and it is up to the main character Jenny Greenley to bring about change in her high school. She stops the constant bullying of one of her classmates Cara (aka in the novel "Cara Cow"), brings back Bettie Ann ( a doll that was kidnapped as a senior prank although it wasn't funny) and tries to make high school a bearable place for everyone. You should really read this book I've read it four times and still can't get enough of it!
