Blocking means the set of instructions that tells each actor where to be at any given moment of the play. It is called blocking because it is organized so that the people who are speaking or are otherwise the focus of attention are not blocked from the view of the audience by other actors who are not important at that moment. Good blocking also allows the actors to move naturally from one part of the stage to another.
