GENERAL DEFINITION

A conflict over a fixed amount of resources / positive outcomes where one person (group) will win and one lose (Khun and Poole 2000).

Such conflicts arise when, in a given situation, the aggregate and individual demands exceed aggregate and allocated supply respectively. This is to say that both party-A and party-B demands what they are likely to (reasonably) receive (through legal, politcal, institutional allocation mechanisms) - driving aggregate demand over finite supply. It is assumed that none of the parties involved are inclined towards concessions in their demands.

Therefore, there are no win-win situation in such an approach to conflict management. One party may, at best, achieve/exceed its desired quota ...in which case, the other will invariably lose out.

Integrative Conflicts, on the other hand, focus more on integrating needs and mutual concessions for the best overall outcome within a system. It may help to remember that both are approaches for conflict 'management' - not 'resolution'.

"Proberty" is not a word. You're looking for "distributive property." The distributive property says that x(a + b) = xa + xb. (Multiplying the sum of two numbers by a third number is the same as summing the products of those two numbers multiplied individually by the third number.)
