Dramatic play typically refers to children's spontaneous role-playing and imaginative scenarios, often observed in informal settings like home or playgrounds, where they act out real-life situations or stories. In contrast, creative dramatics involves more structured activities led by an adult, focusing on storytelling and character development through guided improvisation and performance techniques. While both encourage imagination and expression, creative dramatics often has educational or developmental goals, whereas dramatic play is more about personal exploration and social interaction.

Dramatic literature is specifically written to be performed--you can have a non-fiction drama; fiction is strictly created and not necessarily about something real.
Creative nonfiction, a sub-genre within nonfiction, is a form which places a focus upon narrative construction (storytelling) over the presentation of facts. However, it should be noted that creative nonfiction uses facts and true events as the material from which it is constructed, and is by no means false or fictional. Rather, creative nonfiction's focus is to tell true stories, whether personal or historical, within the confines of well-crafted, dynamic narratives.Examples of creative nonfiction are memoir writing, personal essays, and new journalism.
Creative writing allows for self expression and allows the writer to go outside the bounds of the norms. Expository writing explains, informs, describes, etc. Its primary purpose is to deliver information about an issue, subject, method, or idea.

My new book will explore the difference between a creative endeavor (a profession that is creative by nature, such as an architect, or a musician) and a profession done creatively. I will argue that any profession can be done creatively, but some lend themselves to creativity more than others. I guess you'll have to read my book "How to be creative in a nutshell" to find out the answer to these and other interesting questions.
