Readers on the other hand try to get to the mind of the writer, and try to be as close to the emotion as they can, some succeed and some don't , however, the emotional effect does remain there for a certain period of time.
Emotional effect of a story can not be a generalized concept, for differing emotions are there based on the stored data in one's mind and the resultant emotions are also in harmony with our understanding of a written work.
