"The bed of Sodom" is an expression from Hebrew mythology describing evil or sometimes a situation in which freedom of movement or choice is limited.

In The Bible (genesis 18), we are told that god wanted to obliterate the towns of Sodom and Gomorrah because their people were sinners. A Hebrew legend gives us an example of their sins: In Sodom, they had a special bed for visitors. When an outsider came to town he had to sleep in this bed, if he was too tall and his feet would stick out of the bed they would cut his feet short to fit in it. If he was too short, they would stretch his limbs until he would fit in the bed.
