When Natalie visits home for Christmas break her friend Merideth and her watch Natalies goat while it is in labor. While the two friends are in the barn a bear trys to break in but Merideth shoots it. Scientists take the bear to see if it is rabid or not and later find out it is. The whole story gets in the paper and Natalie heads back to school after New Years Eve.
