Mixed messages are when someone says one thing but their actions seem to say something completely different. An example would be if a friend says that they only want to be your friend but they continuously flirt and say how much they miss you when you're not around.

∙ 6y agoThe phrase "mixed message" usually refers to when you mean one thing but give the person you are talking to a different impression. For example if a girl was being super flirty with a guy but totally ignored him when he tried to talk to her, she was sending him a mixed message.
A mixed message is when you seem to be saying two different things at the same time and your intentions are unclear. In real life, it is often a conflict between words and body language.
