The climax is the point of highest interest where the problem begins to be resolved.
A circular plot has many of the same characteristics of a linear plot, except that a circular plot typically begins and ends in the same or similar place. A character would go through the entire journey of resolving the dramatic question only to end up right back where they started, with nothing solved.
Inciting Incident: * The conflict that begins the action of the story and causes the protagonist to act *Without this event, there would be no story. Also, it is better described as the State of Imperfection made explicit.

Plot just means what happens in the story. Whatever is essential to the story is also essential to the plot. One thing that does make a good story is conflict or tension, though.
The climax is the turning point of the story where the conflict reaches its peak and the characters face their most intense moment of tension and action. It is typically the most dramatic or pivotal moment in the plot that leads to the resolution of the conflict.
