Teacher is not a gender, teacher is an occupation. The noun teacher is a common gender noun, a word for a male or a female who teaches.

There are no opposites of teacher. Teacher can refer to a boy or a girl. There is, if you call them Ma'am or Sir. That is respect and can be used for teachers.

However, the term "professor" was historically applied to some male teachers but not to female teachers.
