We compelled the enemy to surrender -- is an active sentence -- the subject is we, the verb is compelled, the object is the enemy. In a passive sentence the object of the active sentence goes into the subject position -- The enemy...........The verb phrase is -- be + past participle -- was compelled = The enemy was compelled........The phrase 'to surrender' is part of the verb -- The enemy was compelled to surrender.....The subject of the active sentence goes into the object position and is preceded with by --The enemy was compelled to surrender by us.The noun phrase -- by us can -- be left off if you want.
In passive sentences the doer of the verb is not usually given. Or if it is given then it is - by + noun, this is called the agent egThe mouse was chased by the cat.The agent becomes the subject of an active sentence eg:The catchased the mouse. If the agent is not given in the passive sentence you have to find out who or what does the action to make passive into active. egThe Mona Lisa was painted in the 16th century. -- passive_________ painted the Mona Lisa in the 16th century. -- active.Or you could use a word like 'someone' egpassive - The cake was eaten (by someone)active - Someone ate the cake.
If you mean that your voice stops vocalizing when you still wish to speak, then you should see a physician. This may be a simple muscle problem, or it could be serious.

I would say they have a tendency to be so. As an aspie myself, I try to avoid conflict unless someone provokes me; then I tell someone off.
The active and passive voices are used to show what receives or initiates the action in a sentence. With a passive voice, the subject receives the action: "The glass was knocked off the table." In the active voice, the subject initiates the action: "I knocked the glass off the table." The passive voice is often criticized as a way of de-emphasizing the actor, but it is useful, particularly if the actor is unknown, or you.

Yes. Simply turn on the ceiling fan while the light switch is in the "on" position. Adjust the spinning to the level of your choice. Now the fan will turn on and off when you switch the light on and off.
Why does your ac and heater fan turn off and on
Well you have to press the button that says off to be able to turn it off.
Yes
Passive voice is basically taking the emphasis off the actor in a sentence and putting the emphasis on whatever or whoever was acted upon. For instance, in active voice you would say I smashed the car. In passive voice (like if you were telling your dad), you could say The car was smashed. ... no mention of you at all. Your dad has to ask follow up questions, because you used passive voice. You could also say The car was smashed by me. Still passive voice, still identifying the actor, but placing the emphasis on the car rather than you. Here is an excellent handout on the subject: http://www.unc.edu/depts/wcweb/handouts/passivevoice.html
