Christopher's father killed the dog, Wellington, after discovering his wife was having an affair with Mr Shears. When she wife left him, he told Christopher that she'd died, but Christopher uncovers all the letters his mother had sent him since her departure. He runs away from his father and goes to London to find his mother, who is living with mr Shears. After the situation has calmed down Christopher goes back to live with his father because his mother's flat is too small. He takes his exams and passes with flying colours. WebRep
