As a doctor, he inherits the power to either save or heal the patient and allow the effects of the disease to snuff life are perhaps the reason why he had emotionally detached.
In this case, it’s also one thing why Dr. Lazaro loses his faith to God, especially because of certain critical events in his life.
Not only this could be the factor why he loses his faith, as a doctor, exposed to seeing patients undergo traumatic pain and deep suffering, that makes his feeling numb.
It shows how weak he is as a doctor that he could not do anything in order to save the lives of his patients, and even more when his son committed suicide and he even did anything in order to save the life of his son.
As humans, we always tend to blame God for the things that happen in our lives especially the negative one and it usually leads to losing our faith in God.
The things that we could not handle in our life are the reasons why we do not trust God, we think that God is punishing us because of our sins, but there’s a reason why these things are happening to our lives.

Time is the most important thing in the world that you can give to your family and to your love ones. Spend a lot time to them is could be like a special memoirs that can be treasured throughout your life. If only Dr. Lazaro realize this ,he could be a good father and a good husband. Faith is a values that provide us a good character. If only Dr. Lazaro believes that there a Supreme Being and the most powerful ,he will not also doubt himself as a good doctor that can help others. If he only have the burning faith like his son Ben, and if only he don't rebuke his self about what happen to his one son and if only he moved on he can be a great doctor because of faith. Don't doubt yourself because in this way you also doubt what God can do. Count the blessings you have and rejoice don't count what you missed.
