A suffix is morpheme attached to the end of a word to create a new word. The suffix -ly is added to many adjectives to form an adverb.

The adverb possibly is formed from the adjective possible and the suffix -ly.

Also, when you are talking about a word (as opposed to using the word in the sentence) set it apart by putting it in quotation marks (like "possibly") or in italics (like possibly).
