Thermoregulation is the term we give to "temperature control" or the like. For example, the human body likes to run at an internal temperature of 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit. And we have mechanisms within us that control our internal temperature. The biochemical structures that accomplish this are collectively termed the thermoregulation mechanism of the body. Additionally, the cardiovascular system plays a role in thermoregulation by adjusting blood flow near the skin to help dissipate or conserve heat.
The thermoregulation center is located in the spinal cord and the hypothamulus which monitors the temperature inside the body. It allows animals to maintain body temperature when the temperature outside is different.
