Xawaadle is a major clan in Somalia with a population of about 1.5 million people. They have their ancestoral roots to the Ottoman Empire. Xawaadle is widely believed to have migrated to Somalia from Turkey by early 12th Century. They are concentrated in the central regions of Somalia as well as Lower Shabelle, Bay, Bakool, and Etheopean administered territories.
