The suffix -tion converts a verb to a noun (e.g protect (v) + tion = protection (n))
There are three out of the eight parts of speech that end in -ion.
1. ConjunctionA conjunction is a word that connects two of the same parts of a sentence. (I.e. subject+subject, verb+verb, sentence+sentence, etc... The "+" represents where a conjunction would be.) Some examples of conjunctions are "and", "but", "or", "yet", "either+or", "neither+nor". A conjunction joins 2 or more similar things together in a sentence.
2. InterjectionAn interjection is given a name that explains itself. It is interjected into the sentence, normally used during dialouge. (My EnglishA teacher considers interjections "Word Fillers", indicating that they are not typically used.) Interjections are normally used when writing a story with dialouge. (I.e. "Hi!" "Hello!" "Uh..." "Um..." "Wow!" "Ouch!" "Whoa!" "Ow!" etc...)
3. PrepositionA preposition is a word that is used in a prepositional phrase. A preposition is used to give detail and always has an object follow it later on in the phrase. (I.e. In, for, on, up, down, about, into, outside, inside, before, after, etc...) Prepositions commonly give direction or specifics about a noun or verb, depending on if they are an adjectival or adverbial phrase.
....however, the suffix -ion standing alone is not a part of speech. It is a suffix and a part of a word.

It would be "imaginación". Notice this is very similar to English in that the "tion" ending is replaced with "ción". As a general rule, this "transformation" will hold with most English words ending with "tion". There are exceptions, but this small rule will give you hundreds of Spanish words with very little effort on your part.
