In Haruki Murakami's short story "Birthday Girl," the wish made by the protagonist, a young waitress, is not explicitly revealed to the reader. The story ends with her making a wish after being granted a unique opportunity by her employer. The ambiguity surrounding the wish allows readers to interpret and ponder its significance in relation to the protagonist's character and desires.
The word wish is both a noun (wish, wishes) and a verb (wish, wishes, wishing, wished); for example: Noun: Make a wish and blow out the candles. Verb: I wish I had a new bike for my birthday.

I believe that her wish was never to have wishes again :) It fits perfectly - she was so miserable at that time of her life, wished for so many things, and not being able to make these wishes true, she only suffered more. So, she wished never to wish for a single thing again, never to feel the absence of something in her life. Up to that moment, everything is OK, she managed to create a familly, raise children, without the turmoil of missing something in her life, but only time will tell if her wish really came true in the end. It was so obvious for me the first time I read the story :) The true wish actually is why I love that story so much and reread it every year on my birthday :) Or the girl wished to become a different person.

Baby bot made a list, of every birthday wish, there was a pony, a seahorse, a moo, a doll, paddleball, and a hot air balloon. But when she started to see, her friends and her family, she said how happy can one girl be.
There are many things a debutante could wish for on their birthday. They could wish to live a long life for example.
