The word dork originated in 1774 from a dutch fisherman who was out at sea with his crew... upon seeing the abnormally large size of a whales penis (which is scientifically referred to as a 'dork'), and the abnormally large size of his crewmates penis, he responded that the crewmate was a dork... thus you have the origin of the insult "dork"
