There is of course, the main character, Matt, and then El Patron. From the rest of the Alacrans is Mr. Alacrán, Felicia, Tom, Benito ( and his Nigerian wife, Fani), Steven, and El Viejo.

From the Mendozas is Senator Mendoza, Emilia, Maria, and Esperanza. Matt's friends are Celia and Tam Lin.

The people Matt meets in Aztlan are Chacho, Fidelito, Consuela and Guapo, Ton-Ton, Raul, Carlos, Jorge, Flaco, Luna, and Sister Inez. Some miscellaneous characters are Mr. Ortega (his piano teacher), Rosa, Willum (the doctor), MacGregor (another Farmer), Daft Donald, Hugh, Ralf, and Wee Wullie, and the eejit Teacher.

The front of the book should have a list of characters and/or a family tree of the Alacrans.
