Anyway, Mrs. Arlene Babst-Vokey is a Filipino writer, an essayist fictionist and columnist. She's the one who wrote, "Filipinos Are Not Book Lovers." It is an essay that challenges and encourage Filipinos to read. Her most popular novel is Xenitea. She's one of the courageous Filipino columnists of the Manila Bulletin in the Martial Law period. Her writings have a sense of humor, a contagious sense of fun that conveys clever and delightful insights. Her prose is light, readable and clear which makes the reader happy to go along with her and be educated regarding history, current social events as well as one's self in the world of today's Filipino.
