Well, I'm not really positive if they can do any MAJOR damage, but my friend and i can't go on a walk without getting attacked by a swarm of horse flies. We run and in return they follow. Just the other night we went out and had to run all the way home because of them (that's about mile) And i don't mean jogging! I mean sprinting! And yet we STILL managed to get bitten! If anyone can help our predicament please tell us how to get rid of these bothersome pests! ^.^
I don't rly know but I'm thinking that they r kinda dangerous cuz they can really hurt if they bite u and they r rly big!
the man killed by the horse
There are horse flies in Virginia, same as there are horse flies almost everywhere else in the world. There are specifically more horse flies in the east coast, especially in Florida. As for Virginia there's nothing special about the horse fly population there. Just the same old horse flies like everywhere.
Flies can be dangerous to humans because they can carry and transmit diseases such as diarrhea, cholera, dysentery, and typhoid fever. They pick up pathogens from feeding on feces, garbage, and decaying matter, and then transfer these pathogens to surfaces and food that humans come into contact with.
Horse flies don't like water because if they went in water it would kill them and horse flies prefer blood.
Horse flies can grow up to 1.25 inches in size.
Pteronarcophobia is the fear of flies, which includes horseflies.
they are actually really dangerous
Yes a horse can be dangerous if not handled, ridden or treated properly, and of course there are also accidents that occur which can't be prevented.
Yes, there are all sorts of flies everywhere in the world. Horse flies are in Florida. :)
Frogs
Horse flies exist because they evolved from a common insect ancestor with other flies. They fill a certain niche in the ecosystem.
