Hestia was the Greek goddess of the home and the hearth. She used to be one of the Olympians, but she gave up her spot for Zeus' son, Dionysus. Hestia doesn't take sides, and she's one of the goddesses who swore never to marry, hence she was one of the Virgin Goddesses.

The angel's trumpet is associated with Hestia because of its ability to induce a sense of calm and tranquility, reflecting Hestia's domain as the goddess of the hearth and home. The flower's appearance and fragrance also symbolize warmth, hospitality, and the nurturing qualities commonly associated with Hestia.
Few images of the goddess Hestia exist. A very "private person", her symbols, the sacred flame and the circle, are usually used to represent Hestia in works of art.

I would like to know where you got that myth/idea: but at best it is because Hestia is the Greek goddess of fire, home, and hearth, thus of family and that if someone in the family/home was petty it was within her domain.
The foremost important rule is that your domain must be active and must be atleast 60 days old. There are other rules which depends on the registrar.
Hestia is the virgin goddess of the hearth (both private and municipal) and the home. As the goddess of the family hearth she also presided over the cooking of bread and the preparation of the family meal. Hestia was also the goddess of the sacrificial flame and received a share of every sacrifice to the gods. The cooking of the communal feast of sacrificial meat was naturally a part of her domain.
