horses like sugar cubes because it is very sweet and sugary, it seems almost all horses have a 'sweet tooth'. just make sure it is an only sometimes food, like when they display good behavior, because with the amount of sugar in each cube can actually rot their teeth, and i'd imagine that's not a very nice experience!!
