Yes it can, but with limitations.... The engine in this vehicle has a 10.5:1 compression ratio which means that no matter how far the spark is retarded by the knock sensor there will be unnecessarily high combustion pressures which could cause engine damage and/or severely shortened engine life. The vehicle will seem to run the same but high combustion pressures will be shortening the life of the engine.
If you mistakenly fuel up with regular gas it would be prudent to avoid any heavy acceleration, or driving situations that would require the engine to pull hard such as trailer towing or steep hills.
Can u use regular unleaded gasoline in 1987 Mercedes Benz 300e
These cars are absolutely designed and require Premium. They may run on regular, but not happily. (But, they do get great gas mileage!).
u can use dexconn III trans fluid too
It is highly recommended that you DO NOT use regular gas in ANY Mercedes. They were all built to run on premium and you can cause serious damage to your engine if you don't. In fact, I've been told that the "premium" fuel in the US is garbage compared the the premium fuel in Germany. So, don't use regular if you like your car.
No. Premium grade gasoline is required by Mercedes-Benz. To use a lower grade could cause engine damage.Source: FuelEconomy.gov:1998 Mercedes-BenzE320 Sedan -- See the related link.
For a 2000 Mercedes-Benz ML430, it is recommended to use synthetic oil with a viscosity grade of 0W-40 or 5W-40. Be sure to check your owner's manual for the specific oil requirements for your vehicle.
Yes. You may not get the same performance (horsepower) as you would with premium gas, but modern cars can run fine on any grade of unleaded gas.
premium gas
no, you should use only synthetic Mercedes Benz approved fluid.
For a real answer check out this http://www.cartalk.com/content/features/premium/questions.html Their answer is a qualified yes, it is OK to use regular in modern cars. But read the all the details in the link above.
As noted on the gas gauge and all manuals....it is designed to take premium. That isn't to say it wouldn't run on a lesser grade...but probably not very well.
Use what the manual tells you....regular gas.
