As far as I know you can drive it in for repair when the check engine light is
flashing indicating an engine cylinder misfire . Just avoid any heavy /
rapid acceleration or deceleration because you can damage the catalytic
converter ( P.S. I'm not a mechanic / technician )
Here's how i tested the COIL ON a DODGE RAM and it should apply to any coil . you need an Alligator clip ok, you clip that into the plug end of the coil harness , NOT THE COIL ON THIS MACHINE IT doesn't matter if it is live or ground. TAKE A TEST LIGHT clip the ground of the test light onto the alligator clip OK , NOW TOUCH THE OTHER SIDE OF THE HARNESS. GET A HELPER TO TURN THE KEY OVER IF THE TEST LIGHT STAYS SOLID RED OR GREEN THE COIL IS A PASS GREAT OK RUN. IF IT FLASHES LIKE A TIMING LIGHT THE COIL IS shot . I RECALL THE COMPUTER WILL MEMORIZE THAT THE COIL IS GONE AND IT WILL FLASH THE TEST LIGHT TELLING YOU I AM SHOT.
A red flashing light on the Hoover Nextra Optima washing machine when the start delay timer is set might mean that the timer itself is not operational. Run the washer on the regular cycle, and if it works fine, it is the delay timer.
Electronic Controlled Suspension (ECS) The light is flashing because there is a problem somewhere with the controller or some part of the system. If you have tried every other avenue to get your ECS (Electronically Controlled Suspension) working, it's possible the module itself has gone bad. The module is located behind plastic panel in trunk.
This car has 2 coils 1 for r/ and one for l/ banks .to determine which one is failing .simply disconnect both and plug in 1 at a time.when the engine starts the opposing coil is bad .just had this happen to me .if you drive with this condition there is potential to damage the cat convertors.
Youhave a problem with the transmission, something has tripped a trouble code and the transmission has gone into high pressure mode. From what i was told when mine did it, you should not wait to long or it may cause further damage. There should be a trouble cose in the car's computer that can be read.
I haven't gone out to my car to check, but from Google Images it looks like there is a little button right beneath the switch that allows you to move the gear shift park to drive. My OD light was flashing, so I was trying to figure out where it is, too. The owner's manual I found online didn't help.
I turned off h radio and engine. Turned the engine back on and it was gone,
The heating coil/element has probably gone out.
your coil is most likely gone
If you drive a Ford truck and things start to go wrong with it, like you are hearing strange noises or it is stalling on you or it just won't start, you need to get it into a mechanic as soon as possible. One problem that seems to be happening with the Ford trucks are the coil are going bad.
Fortunately, the engine light is flashing. That means that the computer has a code for you to read. Borrow, rent or buy a code scanner for your vehicle, plug it in and find out what the computer is telling you, then the mystery will be gone.
Yes, its a burned out bulb. The dash light will always work and in the case of erratic flashing that is just an indication that it is in fact the bulb that is burned out.
