Yes it does, due to the nature and location of the water pump its good practice to change this whilst you are doing the belt,if you choose not to ,be it on your head if it fails after you have had the belt done.
cambelt should be changed at 70,000 miles , i was quoted £360 at Renault main dealer for cambelt change only , but had cambelt plus water pump changed for £357 at an independent garage.

The typical coolant mixture ratio for a Renault Scenic is usually about 50% antifreeze and 50% water. However, in colder climates, the ratio might be adjusted to 60% antifreeze to 40% water for better protection against freezing. Always refer to the vehicle's owner manual for specific recommendations.
In a Renault Scenic, you should add water to the windshield washer reservoir, which is typically located under the hood. To access it, open the hood and look for a container marked with a windshield wiper symbol. Simply remove the cap and pour in the water, making sure not to overfill. If you need to top up the coolant, that will be in a separate reservoir, usually labeled and located nearby.
The cam belt which works the water pump. Cheers. Donna
first check you haven't got a blown fuse.then check that water hasn't got into the electrics.
To add water to a Renault Megane Scenic, open the hood and locate the coolant reservoir, which is usually a translucent plastic container. Remove the cap and pour in the appropriate water or coolant mixture until it reaches the recommended level. Be sure to check the owner's manual for specific instructions and the correct fluid type. Always wait for the engine to cool down before opening the reservoir to avoid burns.
The water pump on a Renault Scenic is typically located at the front of the engine, usually near the timing belt or chain. Depending on the engine variant, it may be mounted directly on the engine block. Accessing the water pump often requires removing other components, such as the timing cover or accessory belts. Always refer to the specific service manual for your model year for precise location and removal instructions.
Perhaps cracked block?
For a 2004 Renault Scenic 1.5L diesel, it's recommended to use an antifreeze that meets the specifications of Renault, typically a long-life coolant with a mixture of ethylene glycol and water. Look for a coolant that is either blue or green, as these are commonly used in Renault vehicles. Always check the owner's manual for specific recommendations regarding the coolant type and mixing ratios to ensure optimal performance and protection against freezing and corrosion.
