To manually reset the oil change light in a 1997 BMW Z3 Roadster, turn the ignition key to the "ON" position without starting the engine. Press the gas pedal three times within five seconds. After that, turn the ignition off and then start the engine to check if the light has reset. If done correctly, the oil change light should no longer be illuminated.
