hello i have a 1996 astra 1700 td the windows do not work and the car as no ignition lights still starts the temp fuel and rev counter do not work some body help me
The odometer on a 1996 Opel Astra typically operates mechanically, using a series of gears connected to the vehicle's speedometer cable. As the vehicle moves, the rotation of the wheels turns the cable, which in turn drives the odometer gears to record the distance traveled. This mechanical system contrasts with modern vehicles that often use electronic sensors to track mileage. However, the specific type of odometer can vary based on the model and market, so it's advisable to check the vehicle's manual for exact details.

Have you had your key anywhere near a magnet of any description? Even a speaker magnet can knock out these keys. You'll probably need to get your key reset by your dealer. Or your battery may need changing?
If your batteries in the keyfob are OK then you need to synchronize your remote/s with the car using the following procedure:- 1, Ignition off 2, Key in ignition but leave ignition in off position 3, With key still in ignition press the lock button followed by the unlock button. If this doesn't work try again but with the ignition switched on (stage 2)
slam on your shift keys then they shoud work
There is instructions in the owners manual. You need two original keys and a new key or more that have the smart chip built into them. Then go thru the sequence described in the owners manual for programming the new keys to allow the alarm system to recognize these new keys. Otherwise it's $25 per key and $86 to Ford or Mercury dealer to do it for you. Key has to be cut as well at purchase location. Woody The car must have the system installed in order to work.
to find the number of keys that work roger has to add the number of the keys to the ones that broke
Works the same on all Fords. Insert your key in the ignition, cycle the ignition on and off 8 times (don't start vehicle, just goto the 'ON' position with the key). The power locks will cycle one time. Press the lock button on all the fobs you want to work with the vehicle (Up to 4 or 6 max per vehicle, I I don't remember what the limit is). I believe you have about 1 minute to press the button on each fob. Only the fobs that were programed in the last cycle will work, in otherwords, do ALL of the fobs or the ones that used to work will not anymore!
Yes, the Sirius Sportster 5 will work well in the Florida Keys
