its none adjustable .check the fan belttensionor if its a diesel it could be the free wheel part of the alternator pulley they give a bit of trouble
no it dose not have powersteering belt... it uses a hydraulic pump to turn
powersteering belt off first, then water pump, each has its own ten.
It has a belt, one belt is an a/c belt and the other is a serpentine belt which connects to powersteering, alternater and the water pump
The powersteering pump is driven by the serpentine belt. There is only the one belt to drive everything
You will find a single idler pully with a single bolt through it, undo this bolt, turn to the left, put your new belt on and re-install your belt. I believe you can adjust tension by moving the nuts and bolts on your powersteering pump bracket assembly. Ryan
The water pump is the tensioner for the timing belt. if you need to adjust it, replace it.
I found one from looking up a picture of the alternator. Try looking for a water pump or powersteering pump replacement picture.
take off serpentine belt unbolt powersteering pump and hoses and drain it. That's it.
To adjust the power steering belt on your 1984 Mercedes 280SL, first, locate the power steering pump and the belt tensioner. Loosen the bolts securing the power steering pump bracket, then adjust the pump to increase tension on the belt. Ensure the belt has about 1/2 inch of play when pressed in the middle, then tighten the bolts back to secure the pump in place. Finally, check that the belt is aligned properly and secure before starting the engine.
try looking behind the powersteering pump resivior but it may be behind the timing belt cover
Secure the water pump with the retaining bolts. Connect the water pump hose. Put the belt on to the water pump. Fill your cooling system with anti-freeze.
there is only one serp. belt if the belt is cracked or worn then it needs to be replaced the powersteering pump is bad if it's hard to turn the steering wheel make sure it has power steering fluid and that it does't leak
