There are three plastic nubs attached to the headlamp mounting fixture. When in place the nubs sit into mounting holes. Pull each nub towards the car and when free of the little hole move the short distance (10 degrees towards the left). You will see the slot that the fitment is intended to slide through. With all three of these retaining nubs free the headlamp unit pops forward to be removed. You can even do this with a brushguard in place. You just need a few inches of wiggle room. Pull back the wired multi-plug unit and remove from bulb terminals. Remove large rubber gasket to expose back of bulb. There is a wire spring holding the bulb in place. The spring is held in place by two screws on one side which act as the hinge for the spring to swing open like a gate. The spring is held closed by being clipped under a plastic retainer lip on the side opposite the screws. It is released by depressing on the protruding part of the spring. Take care not to get any contaminants on the bulb or finger prints. If you do then the bulb must be cleaned thoroughly. While you are there clean the the multi-plug fitting for the bulb terminals. This itself might be the problem due to there being a little corrosion build up and not an actual bulb burnout. There are three plastic nubs attached to the headlamp mounting fixture. It depends on what model of land rover, how it is driven, and on several other factors, but for the land rover discovery with automatic transmission it will probably be around 11-13mpg during normal driving.
Hub seal is leaking
1996 landrover discovery gas tank holds 23.4 gallons of gas.
