just changed one yesterday, real easy.
1 remove the fascia plate the surrounds the switch in the central dash - prise a flat blade screwdriver under the plate and ease off. you meed to pull gently upwards to release.
2. when fascia has been removed- the cup holder should be removed also. Slip a fine flat blade horizontally into each corner of the cup holder and it will spring out there's a connector at the back of the cup holder just remove that also
3. Slide a screwdriver down the left side of the flasher switch. Look and see there is a spring clip attached to the side of the switch. That holds the flasher unit insitu, push the clip intowards the switch and pull gently. Repeat the same clip release thechnique on the flasher switch right hand side.
4. release the connector on the faulty switch and replace the
switch.
For a novice this procedure will take 10 minutes

Behind the switch for the flashers. The turn signals and flasher relay are on the same switch where ever the hazard switch is. This is a super easy fix, and the very first fix I did to a car. The part cost $65 at the dealership but you can purchase it online aftermarket for $38. Took me literally 5mins to fix. Audi dealership wanted to charge $190.
The turn indicator relay in an Audi TT is integrated with the hazard switch. To replace the relay you would need to replace the hazard switch.
This seems to be a cammon fault with VW/Audi cars. U will need to replace the hazard light switch mechanism which contains the switching contacts. I had to replace same in my last cars (VW/Audi)
It is connected to the back of your Hazard Flasher. I just had to change mine. About $65.00 to $70.00. Couple of clips at the bottom of front panel then it just pops out.
Dealer will charge $190 but any novice can fix this in 5 mins. You can order the "flasher relay" (turn signals and flasher relays are on same component) for $38 online or $65 at dealer. Its a common fix. Remove the face plate in front of the hazard switch, pul the switch out. Its connected via plug from behind. Unplug, then plug new one in. Easy!
