Remove the top bolt on the caliper. you need to turn the bolt while holding the nut. The caliper will pivot on the lower bolt. Remove the old pads and you can now push the piston while turning it clockwise to screw it into the cylinder. You have to push and turn because the cylinder is threaded, but only part way.

How do you reset the brake caliper of 2006 Acura TL?

To reset the brake caliper on a 2006 Acura TL, you typically need to retract the caliper piston back into the housing. This can be done using a brake caliper tool or a C-clamp to gently push the piston back in. Ensure the brake fluid reservoir cap is loosened to prevent pressure buildup. Once the piston is fully retracted, you can reinstall the caliper and brake pads as needed.

What is procedure for compressing rear disc brake piston on 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix?

Screw the piston puck in clockwise. There is a tool for this (KN or KY) that is a box with little dowel pins to fit the slots in the caliper piston. What you are actually doing is resetting the parking brake. As the pads wear and you set the parking brake, each actuation of the parking brake foot lever ratchets the piston outward to componsate for pad wear.

How do I get the front rotor off of an 2006 Chevy Silverado?

Loosen lug nuts. Jack up vehicle, support on jack stand. Remove wheel. I like to spray down the entire brake assembly with brake cleaner first, have a catch bucket underneath. Remove caliper body. Remove rotor. Installation is the reverse of removal. You may have to remove the brake pads in order to depress the caliper piston to get the caliper back over the new rotor (depending on how worn your old rotor is)
