I presume you are changing the outer blade assembly (#85242-48020; ~$9.00) and not the whole arm. Remove the plastic cover on the pivot (axle) by prying the sides out at the bottom. Lift up the arm so it is about 90 degrees from the back glass. Flip the blade assembly backwards over the arm to disengage it from the arm. I believe the Toyota Dealer is the only place to get a replacement blade assembly. "Replacement is the reverse of removal." Good luck. These steps also work on 2006 Highlander.

Replacement rubber blades are also available from NAPA.

The blade length is a fairly standard 12" length available at most parts stores. You can also buy a longer blade and clip it shorter. I have done this without issue.

I found a replacement arm at Pep Boys, ProLine brand 12" for my 2003 Highlander.

I didn't have to pry anything off, just lifted the arm up, flipped the blade assembly back far enough until it popped off. The peg part fits into the slot, then the clip part snaps it in place.
