The bulb is accessed via the trunk. Open the trunk or "boot" for our British friends, then look up, directly underneath the 3rd. brake light itself. You will see the bulb housing, Turn 1/4 counter-clockwise to unseat it. This will remove the bulb assembly with the bulb itself already attached to it.
Remove the bulb by turning about an 1/8-1/4 counter clockwise to remove the bulb itself. Insert new bulb by reversing the steps. A 5 minute job total
To change the high-level brake light on a Renault Espace, first, ensure the vehicle is turned off and the keys are removed. Open the tailgate and locate the access panel or screws that secure the high-level brake light assembly. Remove the panel or screws, disconnect the old light bulb or assembly, and replace it with a new one. Reassemble the access panel or screws, and test the brake light to ensure it’s functioning properly.
Remove the wiring harness from the high mount brake light. Remove the back cover of the brake light assembly. Take hold of the brake light connector, push in and turn at the same time. Reverse the process to install the new brake light.

Remove the high mount brake light retaining screws from your Mazda Protg. Remove the high mount brake light wiring harness. Reverse the process to install your new high-mount brake light.
