To fit a fan belt on a VW Polo, first, ensure the engine is off and cool. Start by loosening the tensioner bolt and removing the old belt from the pulleys. Then, route the new belt according to the belt diagram, typically found on the engine bay or in the owner's manual. Finally, adjust the tensioner to apply the correct tension, ensuring the belt is tight but not overly so, and then tighten the tensioner bolt securely.

The newer VW Polo cars do have seat belt warning lights. Older models from the 1970's and 1980's are not equipped with this light system.
