To fix an open boot on a Jaguar, first, check the boot release mechanism for any obstructions or damage. If the latch is stuck, try manually releasing it using the key or remote to see if it resets. If the issue persists, inspect the wiring and connectors for faults, and consider replacing any malfunctioning components. Consulting a professional mechanic or referring to the vehicle's manual may also provide specific troubleshooting steps.
The words "Boot Open" means the trunk lid is open. Cheers, Jeff

To open the boot of a 1997 Jaguar XJ8 with a flat battery, you can use the manual key entry. Locate the keyhole on the boot lid, insert the key, and turn it to unlock the boot. If the keyhole is not accessible or the mechanism is jammed, you may need to access the rear seat area and release the boot latch manually from inside.
It means that the car beieves that the boot/trunk is open. Either the switch is broken or the latch hasn't closed properly.
i cant open my boot on my 55 focus either by remote or the button on the boot how can i fix this please
It depends on if you only locked the doors. If so yes. If not... NOOO
A boot is a boot in UK and a trunk in US!
Smoke some pot it will fix the problem.
To unlock a jammed boot on an X-Type Jaguar, first, ensure the vehicle's battery is charged, as a dead battery can prevent the boot from opening. Use the key fob or the interior boot release button to attempt to open it. If that fails, you can access the boot via the rear seats by folding them down and manually releasing the lock mechanism. If the issue persists, consider consulting a professional for further assistance.
I hit the valet swtch in my 1995 xj6 when cleaning, The boot will open via the switch on the dash and or with my key, but when using the fob to open the car, all is fine but the boot has to be done via key as it dont via central looking.
try valet switch in 'glovebox' between front seats
boot is the trunk, the big hole with a lid on that keeps the back wheels apart.
