Unscrew the air filter cover. The mass air flow sensor assembly is between the top of the air filter cover and the large rubber hose. Unscrew the clamp to the rubber hose. Unplug the sensor. (Mine had a wire tie clamped on the plug and I had to cut it off.)
Pull off the cover and turn it upside down. Inside the air fliter cover, in the middle, you will see 4 nuts that attach to the mass air flow sensor. Take a socket and unscrew them. You will see one nut in the corner. Unscrew it and the assembly will come off.
Take the new assembly and re-install.

AnswerIt is built into your Mass Air flow sensor so you have to replace the whole thing, for the 98 and up they are separate.
yes, but in certain ways like positioning..
Very simple. Unplug the wire to the sensor, unscrew/remove the sensor, install new sensor and plug it in. You're done. Have fun.
Disconnect the battery Unclip the intake box where the filter goes and remove the sensors on it Mas air flow sensor (the one with the big square on top) and the IAT Sensor (Little one connected to the side of the intake box). Unscrew the box under it that has the filter and remove. Remove the tubing that connects to the throttle body. Install the new intake to the throttle body Install the MAF sensor a the end of the half tubing Install the other half after it Install the IAT sensor at the whole that it has for it Install the filter that came with the new intake Reconnect the battery and let the car run for a bit make sure all the connections are re connected
